BRIS CEREMONY
Brit Milah (also called Bris) literally "The Covenant of Circumcision," is one of the most important mitzvot (divine commandments) binding the Jewish People with God. With a few exceptions, Brit Milah takes place on a baby boy’s eighth day of life, even if it coincides with the Sabbath or another Holy Day. If there is any doubt about the baby’s health, the Bris is postponed until he is completely well. The Brit Milah ceremony elevates an office-based circumcision into a deeply powerful Jewish milestone accompanied by songs, liturgical blessings, and prayers.

As a seasoned surgeon with a deep-rooted Jewish identity, becoming a Mohel has allowed me to blend medical expertise with spiritual practice. From my childhood as the son of a Conservative Rabbi in the San Fernando Valley, to my medical education at Tel Aviv University, Brown University and University of Southern California, culminating in my certification as Mohel at the Jewish Theological Seminary, it is my privilege to offer Jewish families meaningful, safe, and joyous Brit Milah ceremonies.
